Unfortunately, your laptop may not be compatible with our SSD upgrade service

Based on the storage size you've selected, your device may be fitted with eMMC storage — a type of storage that is built directly into the motherboard and cannot be replaced or upgraded.

What you can do: If you're unsure whether your laptop has eMMC storage, you can check by going to Settings → System → About and looking at your device specifications. If your storage shows as a fixed 32GB or 64GB with no option to expand, eMMC is likely the cause.

If you believe your laptop has a standard hard drive rather than eMMC storage, you're welcome to go back and recheck your selection — we'd love to help if your device is compatible.

We're sorry we can't help on this occasion.

Unfortunately, your laptop may not be compatible with our SSD upgrade service

Some IdeaPad 3 models with 128GB storage use standard upgradeable SSDs — these are fully compatible with our service.

However, a small number of budget IdeaPad 3 configurations with 128GB use a different type of storage called eMMC which cannot be upgraded.

One quick check tells us which you have:

Go to Settings → System → About

Look at the Processor line.

If it says Intel Core i3, i5, i7 or AMD Ryzen — your laptop is compatible. So press 'Previous' and then choose 'Hard Drive (HDD)' to continue booking.

If it says Intel Celeron or Intel Pentium — unfortunately your ssd is not upgradeable

No problem — let's help you check in under 2 minutes

Most people don't know this off the top of their head — it's easy to find out with these steps:

On Windows 10 or 11:

Click the Start button

Open Settings (the cog icon)

Go to System

Click Storage

Look at the storage shown

What you're looking for:

If your total storage shows as 32GB or 64GB — your laptop likely has eMMC storage which unfortunately cannot be upgraded. Our compatibility checker will let you know.

If your total storage shows as 500GB, 1TB, or 2TB — your laptop almost certainly has a standard hard drive or SSD and is likely compatible with our service.

Still not sure?

You can also check by going to Settings → System → About and looking under Device Specifications, or simply checking the original box or receipt if you still have it.

Once you've checked, come back and select the option that matches your storage size — we'll take it from there.
