The HP Pavilion 17 and HP 17 family is one of HP’s long-running large-screen laptop ranges. Many owners bought these laptops because they liked the 17.3-inch screen, full keyboard, number pad and familiar home-office feel. The problem is that a lot of older Pavilion 17 models were sold with slow 5400rpm hard drives — and over time, Windows updates, antivirus scans, OneDrive, Outlook, browser data and normal files can make the laptop feel much slower than it should.
The aim is not to return a different computer. The aim is to return your own Pavilion 17 with your familiar Windows setup, files, folders, browser logins, Outlook data and everyday layout preserved where possible — but with a much faster solid-state drive fitted.
